Kratos stares at Zelos' back, long shadows cast over the ground before the two of them, the setting sun at Kratos' back. Zelos' hair catches the light and reflects it like a banner.

Zelos sounds... off. Kratos thinks of Zelos' cautious determination the other night, when Zelos had suggested he and Kratos run ahead, alone, when he had asked Kratos to be his driver. Kratos still wonders, briefly, if he gave the wrong answer, especially as Zelos faces Tethe'alla, now.

He considers his next words carefully, but perhaps not carefully enough, because what he lands on is not exactly kind.
