Okay, in Zelos' defense, the only reason why he jumps a little when Sheena addresses him is because he was distracted thinking about where the fuck these peoples' plates could even be, because he's a proper boy and if he's going to eat anything then he's gonna do it without making a fucking mess. Really, that's it. That's really it. He doesn't really have to disguise his surprise, so he lets a bit of it show in a milder, less panicked way than what he really felt at being found out, holding that emotion close and refusing to let it swim through their connection.

He gives Sheena a little smile, though, something that looks friendlier than he really feels, and shrugs. "Thought I'd grab a bite," he tells the truth. "I'm starving. Don't really wanna wait," he lies. Then he tilts his head, smiling still, unconsciously trying to appear as non-threatening as possible. "Need something?"
